Mild cold wave sweeps eight districts, may persist: Met office

Lowest temperature drops to 8.4°C in Tentulia as fog and dry weather continue nationwide

A mild cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Jashore, Chuadanga and Kushtia, and may continue, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said today.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 8.4 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, according to the met office.

In its latest bulletin, the met office said the weather is expected to remain generally dry across the country, with temporarily partly cloudy skies.

Moderate to dense fog may form at places over river basins, while light to moderate fog is likely elsewhere during the late night and morning hours, it said.

The BMD forecast that both night and day temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
