PM chairs meeting on BRT project’s progress, benefits
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today chaired a meeting on the Bus Rapid Transit project, reviewing its progress, implementation process, and possible benefits.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat, Deputy Press Secretary Mostafa Zulfiquar Hasan Shiplu said.
The BRT project stretches from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Joydebpur in Gazipur.
At the meeting, experts shared their views on different aspects of the project, including its design, station management, passenger services, operating structure and overall effectiveness.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister Habibur Rashid Habib, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Mohammad Ziaul Haque, and Roads and Highways Department Chief Engineer Moinul Hasan attended the meeting.
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) teachers Md Shamsul Hoque, Mosleh Uddin Hasan, Md Hadiuzzaman and Rakib Ahsan were also present, along with other officials concerned.
