N'ganj murders put Rab under scanner

When the elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was formed we were elated and heaved a sigh of relief because they seemed very capable and trustworthy. People used to look upon them with admiration and whenever they saw a RAB personnel they used to wave with delight.
But the incident at Narayanganj jolted us to the core; it shattered the image of the RAB. Recently we heard about some misdeeds committed by the RAB which is disappointing, but those are insignificant compared to the Narayanganj incident.
We learned that three RAB officials were dismissed on specific allegations. We demand that a proper investigation be carried out and the RAB personnel guilty of such a heinous crime be given the ultimate punishment. Crimes committed by law-enforcing agents are unforgivable; they must face justice without delay.
