The Finishing Line

There are people everywhere. Runners with their family or friends, maybe even both. It's far too easy to tell the runners apart from their well-wishers. The athletes are dressed in all white, the only things that's not white is the big bold black number glued right at the chest. Some of them did take the liberty to accessorise themselves with colourful headbands and colourful socks — some ankle high and some up to their knees. Anticipation can be detected in the faces of the tag-alongs, whereas on the runners' faces, a prominent look of dread sits rooted, which I'm sure is present on my face as well.

The Evacuation

The feathery white clouds floating lazily across the cerulean sky indicated that it was going to be a lovely day. Just like other days that ended in massive brouhaha. Old Li Yan was sweeping the park, when he sensed something different in the air. He looked around, but everything seemed pretty normal. Call it the superstitions of an old man, but Yan's intuitions had never failed him previously. Something was not right.

5 Unique Games for Android

Mobile gaming often comes under fire for being repetitive cash grabs. With so many Clash of (insert buzzword) floating around the Play Store, it's hard to not think that gaming on Android is just a saturated mess. But I was pleasantly surprised with a couple of games, even more so because of the fact that they are available for free and on mobile.

The one overlooked aspect of video game immersion

The player camera in video games is a criminally-overlooked feature. It can mean the difference between killing that difficult boss and dying to him because the camera glitched out and you were staring into your character's nostrils.

TOO MUCH FOR ONE MATCH

What the world witnessed last Sunday was spectacular. This year's Champions League final was a match that injected a rush of emotions for every set of fans out there. For neutrals, it had everything from unmatchable quality of play to the worst levels of incompetence fathomable. I have never laughed at a football match like I did at this one.

Annoying Eid Shoppers

With Eid comes joy, and part of the joy is in wearing new clothes. But shopping for these clothes can be an activity that puts a frown on even the most cheerful shopkeeper's face. They are caused by none other than annoying customers, only some of whom are mentioned below.

The Life and Times of Liverpool Fans

For a brief moment, in the 50th minute of the Champions League final in Kiev, Liverpool fans across the globe were seized by a sudden and inescapable madness. They had seen their talisman Salah trudge off in tears, breaking a million hearts in the process. They had seen Jürgen Klopp's plans of suffocating this seasoned Madrid side torn to shreds by an infuriating, and yet undeniably excellent, display of cynical

Deadpool 2 ups the ante

You have probably heard this a lot since the first movie came out, so much so that it may sound a little clichéd to you, but no other character in the superhero genre has had as perfect a casting as Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds is an actor so imbibed into the skin of the character that you will happily buy a ticket just to see him do his usual shtick.

First world woes and worries

I know I only come to you when I have to rant but today was truly the worst day of my life. The entire day just started on a bad note. I woke up to find that I didn't plug in my charger properly last night and so my phone wasn't charged. So, I had to resort to using my power bank to charge my phone instead, since I had to leave the house.

AUNTIE VERSION: THE 48 LAWS OF POWER

Of all the myriad groups of people existing in South Asia, one of the most irksome ones are aunties. Some live with them, some live around them, and some become them. However, with all their spying and intruding, we often try to shun them from our lives and don't listen to what they have to say. So, to make your lives more miserable, I've decided to drastically alter some of the teachings of a wonderful book called The 48 Laws of Power written by Robert Greene so that it instead contains information on what aunties would do, what they already do, their advice for other aunties and what they want you to do-secretly or openly.

Dealing with a bad exam

“Candidates, you have five minutes remaining until the end of the examination,” blares the speaker. Your heartbeat suddenly increases exponentially. Your mind goes blank, known answers are forgotten and your brain turns into a mushy mess of fat and tissue that seems to have lost its intellectual prowess. Your pen is scribbling away words that don't make any sense and before you can actually finish the paper, the speaker announces that the time is over.
