The closing ceremony of Global Money Week 2018 was held on March 18, 2018 at the British Council. This year the event was celebrated with different programmes with the theme “Money Matters Matter”. The closing ceremony included a formal discussion session which was attended by the partner organisations and followed by a business game activity for the secondary school students, facilitated by ACCA Bangladesh.

Makeshift Oxygen
“Why do you write?” someone once asked me. “To leave my mark,” I shrugged, “Maybe to create something that will outlive me?” “Stop it. Writing won't ever make you money,” another quipped.

Dream Dates and More
At that point a bike flew past me on the sidewalk, making me jump sideways and onto a puddle of mud. My shoes were drenched, and some of the goo had seeped in between my toes. The overpowering smell of the biker's cologne, mixed in with the familiar “city smell” of exhaust fumes, sweat, and crushed dreams, disoriented me.

Post-travel melancholia
There are various stages in a successful tour that we all remember fondly. Even the inconveniences that may have been there are seen in a warmer light. However, there is one part associated with traveling that is hardly talked about and certainly is its most painful derivative. I'm talking about the post-travel melancholia.

Map of my Childhood
While I was a toddler, I would admiringly flip through the pages of my fairy tales and picture books. Glass slippers would fit, dragons would get slain, sleeping princesses would wake up with a kiss, mermaids would fall in love with man, and genies would pop out of lamps and so on. Of course I couldn't read at that time. But I would look through the colourful illustrations in my books everyday in awe.

Everything you wanted to know about Easter
For God knows how long, this time of the year has constituted of people bombarding me with questions relating to various aspects of a particular Christian holiday, especially in regards to Bangladesh. I'm talking about “Easter Sunday”.

Baby in the house!
After years of being the youngest of your clan, there comes a time when you're not the youngest anymore. Initially, it can be a bit overwhelming that a tiny human being is now your brand new relative. The prospect of being an older cousin, aunt, or uncle can be somewhat intimidating, but trust me when I say this—the feeling doesn't last too long.

Types of Presenters in Class
With the start of life at university, presentations become an integral part of your educational experience regardless of what major you pursue. Consequently, observing numerous presentations over the first year of my university life, I have noticed a few categories of presenters out there.

BOOKS, BOOKSTORES, AND BANGLADESH
I love travelling and books; what I love more is travelling with books. I have never been on a trip, domestic or international, where a book wasn't in my backpack. And every time I step into a bookstore, my eyes search for any hint of a book that's about Bangladesh or authored by my compatriot. More often than not, I am disappointed.

If I win the lottery
Pretty much almost all of us have speculated what we'll do if we win the lottery, and it's also a classic topic for our early school life essays. Here, you'll have an honest essay-ish feel of what I'll actually do if I win the lottery, as a generic somewhat privileged Bangladeshi male.

Be your own band
Have a knack for vocal harmonies, but don't have the technical prowess to put together and edit a cappella videos? Or perhaps you know how to play multiple instruments and want to show off your musical talent on social media? If it's either of the aforementioned situations, you're going to love the Acapella Maker.

Pros & Cons of Listening to Music in Bulk
“Yo dude, have you heard this *insert band name* song?” a friend asks you. You sweat nervously as you put a song on pause. It's a song of a band you've been listening to for a while. You hope no one ever finds out that 'a while' means the last one month because they have seven studio albums, five EPs, two live albums, four acoustic sessions and fifteen hidden singles. Sometimes you wonder why you bother

Classics that deserve a replay
For all the gamers out there, the future promises much in the form of innovation. With the increased development of VR as well as various AR projects, gaming technology is about to get an overhaul and expand its horizons significantly. Before this new era is ushered in, however, we thought it would be a good idea to put on our rose-tinted goggles and pay homage to some of the classics which have stood the test of time.

Life is hard when you're sleepy all the time
The Dalai Lama once said, “Sleep is the best meditation.” Of course, his words are true and so is my dedication to this natural human need. I am sure I am not the only one who loves sleep more than anything else. Here are the struggles you can relate to if you have a strong bond with your bed.

Acne is basically caused by pores getting clogged with either dirt or oil. So, after a long, tiring day, don't just plop on the bed directly, remember to actually wash your face.

Day in the life of an Instagram Influencer
I roll out of bed and head straight to the washroom. The bags under my eyes have worsened and my hair is now home to four new species of birds. Hair and makeup takes me only 45 minutes these days, and then I'm back under my covers, ready to post the first selfie of the day. “Embrace your bare skin,” I caption it, and am bombarded with tags of people inspired by me to go makeup-free for the day. I'm doing something right.

If you are about to move to a new house and the sheer thought of packing up your whole life and unpacking it in a strange new place is starting to overwhelm you, then you are in the right place.
