Cumilla thrash Rangpur
Cumilla Warriors registered a whopping 105-run victory against Rangpur Rangers in the second match of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) under the lights at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.
Coming in to chase a challenging 173 for seven posted by Cumilla, Rangpur faltered and were bundled out for a meagre 68 in just 14 overs.
Rangpur suffered a batting collapse with only three of their batsmen being able to cross double-figure mark. Al Amin Hossain struck twice in the sixth over with back to back deliveries that saw Rangpur struggling at 34 for four. After that Rangpur could not recover as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Rangpur's opener Mohammad Naim scored a team high of 27-ball 17 runs. Cumilla's Al Amin finished with impressive figures of three for 14 in three overs.
Earlier, skipper Dasun Shanaka's 31-ball 75, laced with three boundaries and nine maximums, powered Cumilla to a challenging total.
