'Need to get out of our reliance on spin'
There were not many positives for Bangladesh in the two-match Test series but pacer Abu Jayed Rahi's performance in the first Test and the rest of the pacers faring better in the second Test with the pink ball were a few of the high points for Bangladesh following the end of the series.
Having historically relied on spin attack to battle conditions and being found out in away conditions, Test captain Mominul Haque felt that the team had to come out of their spin dependency after the India pacers ran riot in both Tests.
"We need to get out of our reliance on spin. I think the pacers did very well in this series. When they can play regularly in home and away conditions, we will be able to gauge how much they have improved," he said about spin reliance.
However, pacers have not been given opportunity at home in the longer format in recent years. "When they [pacers] are given more opportunity away and also at home, they will improve. In the last two years there have been changes in the country's wickets in the domestic circuit. There are sporting wickets and the teams are playing three to four pacers. Our pacers are coming through slowly.
