Bangladesh eye WTC gains in home Tests against West Indies in October

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the itinerary for the upcoming two-match home Test series against the West Indies, with the visitors slated to arrive in Dhaka on October 18.

The series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. Bangladesh currently sit fourth in the WTC standings, trailing only Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand.

To kick off the tour, the West Indies will play a three-day practice match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex from October 22 to 24.

The first Test will commence on October 28 at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The action will then move to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium for the second and final Test, scheduled for November 5 to 9.

Following the series, the Tigers will face a grueling turnaround. With just a five-day gap to recover and travel, Bangladesh will head to Centurion to take on South Africa in their first Test, beginning November 15.
