The second meeting of the BCB board of directors was held today at BCB's Mirpur office in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and following the meeting, the BCB president Nazmul Hassan revealed the new standing committees while the board president also confirmed that Jamie Siddons, former coach of Bangladesh, was appointed as batting consultant.

Former Australian cricketer Siddons, who served as coach of the national side from 2007 till 2011, will return to Bangladesh cricket as a batting consultant.

"We are yet to decide on what his contract will be but it's likely he will join us in February (2022). It's yet to be decided whether he will work with national team, HP or a group of specific players," the BCB president said after informing that Jamie's appointment was approved in the board meeting today.

Among other matters, the issue of Akram Khan as Cricket Operations Chairman had come into focus after the former cricketer revealed a few days ago that he wanted to resign from the post. BCB president revealed the names of the directors who will be heading the new standing committees during the press conference today and revealed that Jalal Yunus, the former media committee chairman, has replaced Akram as the new Cricket Operations Chairman.

Akram meanwhile has been appointed as chairman of Facilities while he will also look after the cricketing structure of physically handicapped cricketers. Akram will also be with HP team which will be led by former captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy.

The Sheikh Hasina Cricket Stadium was also another matter for discussion in the meeting and BCB president informed that they have appointed a firm for consultancy. "We would like to begin work on the stadium immediately but it's a lengthy procedure," Hassan said before adding that the stadium is likely to have a capacity of fifty thousand and will take three years to complete.
