The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the national women's squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka this month. The women's side will leave Dhaka on April 25 to take part in three ODIs and three T20s against the hosts. The ODI series is part of the ICC Women's Championship.

Nigar Sultana Joty and her troops will play a practice match against a Board President's XI at the Colombo Cricket Club on April 27 before facing the hosts in the first of the three-match ODI series on April 29 at the P Sara Oval.

The second and third ODIs are scheduled for May 2 and 4 respectively at the same ground.

The visitors will then take part in another warm-up game on May 7 ahead of the first of the three-match T20I series on May 9 at the Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground. The second and third T20Is are scheduled for May 11 and 12 respectively.

According to women's chief selector Monjurul Islam, the upcoming Sri Lanka tour will be crucial for the Tigresses. He added that adapting to conditions will be key.

"The weather and conditions will be challenging for us in Sri Lanka and we selected the squad considering that. We tried to have a blend of senior and experienced players along with a few upcoming young stars from the recent Under-19 World Cup squad," said Monjurul.

"We have also rested a few senior players since we will have a busy schedule ahead and at the same time we feel the Sri Lanka tour will be a challenging task fitness wise."
