BFL matches brought forward by a day
The government is set to launch a new grassroots initiative, Notun Kuri Sports, aimed at engaging young people across the country in sporting activities and nurturing talented athletes. The programme will be formally inaugurated on May 2 at the Sylhet District Stadium, with simultaneous participation from children and teenagers at district stadiums nationwide.
To facilitate the opening ceremony, the Bangladesh Football Federation has revised the schedule of the Bangladesh Football League. Matches originally slated for May 1 and 2 (Friday and Saturday) have been brought forward by a day following requests from district administrations in Cumilla, Gazipur and Munshiganj to ensure smooth arrangement of the event.
Under the revised schedule, fixtures set for May 1 -- Mohammedan vs Bashundhara Kings and Brothers vs Arambagh -- will now be played on 30 April.
The matches scheduled for May 2 – Abahani vs Fakirerpool, Police vs PWD, and Fortis vs Rahmatganj -- will take place on May 1.
