Kylian Mbappe target of terrifying kidnapping plot
Kylian Mbappe is at the centre of a disturbing story in France that has nothing to do with football. According to an investigation published by Le Parisien, the Real Madrid forward was reportedly among the potential targets of a group suspected of planning kidnappings and attacks against high-profile individuals.
The alleged organisation is believed to have been led by Clement L., an 18-year-old currently in prison who was charged alongside an accomplice on August 21 in Nanterre in connection with organised robbery. Investigators suspect links to several home invasions and kidnappings carried out or allegedly planned between April and August 2026.
The case took another turn when authorities reportedly seized two mobile phones in prison and discovered a list of 26 potential targets. Alongside business figures and personalities from the music industry was the name of Mbappe.
According to Le Parisien, the teenager allegedly used the alias "Lester Z" to communicate while behind bars. The two seized phones became an important part of the investigation after authorities examined their contents.
Information recovered from the devices reportedly revealed plans involving several potential victims. In addition to business figures, the list allegedly included a rapper and Mbappe, although investigators are still working to establish how far any potential plans had progressed.
There has been no indication that an alleged plot targeting the Real Madrid star was actually carried out. The France captain's name emerged as part of a much broader investigation into the group's suspected activities.
The primary suspect, however, reportedly disputes the allegation that he was the mastermind behind the operation. According to Le Parisien, he acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations but maintains that his role was limited to acting as an intermediary.
His account reportedly points to another alleged leader who would have directed the operations and communicated instructions to those responsible for carrying them out.
The French justice system continues to investigate the case as authorities attempt to determine how the alleged organisation operated, which plans may have moved forward and the precise level of involvement of each suspect.
