Bangladesh win two gold medals in NESCO Judo in Nepal

Bangladesh won two gold medals and one bronze at the 8th NECOS International Judo Championship, said a press release from Bangladesh Judo Federation.

On the second day of the competition, held at the multi-purpose martial arts centre in Naya Bazar, Kathmandu, four Bangladeshi judokas competed in medal events. 

In the girls’ Under-18 cadet 53kg+ category, Aziza Aleya Liyon won the gold medal. In the boys’ cadet 62kg+ category, Usaching Marma Bijoy also clinched gold. In the final event of the day, the under-45kg category, Remi Hasi secured a bronze medal.

Around 300 judokas from host Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan are taking part in the international tournament, which is being organised by the National Judo Association under the Nepal Sports Federation.

Two more Bangladeshi players will compete for medals tomorrow. A total of six BKSP athletes are representing Bangladesh in the tournament.
