Bangladesh national team cricketers and staffs celebrated Eid-Ul-Azha in Zimbabwe. 

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal and ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan echoed the same sentiment after whitewashing Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI series on Tuesday.

Bangladesh were placed in Group B alongside Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman Round 1 while hosts India were placed in the same group as arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super 12 stage of the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman later this year.

The 18-member Bangladesh national cricket team’s Test squad, led by Mominul Haque, have reached Zimbabwe, following a long 21-hour journey yesterday.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play 12 Tests across six series in the upcoming edition of the World Test Championship (WTC), according to the Future Tours Programme (FTP) of the ICC.

“Whenever teams like the West Indies, Sri Lanka [or others] tour Bangladesh for international series, we have them play [practice tour matches] against our ‘A’ squad. Hence, if you do the math, you can see that they are getting a lot of practice matches through this process,” clarified Akram Khan, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) cricket operations committee, in response to questions regarding the inactivity of the Bangladesh A Team over the years.
