Ebadot shines after Tamim in warm-up
Fast bowler Ebadot Hossain made his presence felt with the ball on day two of the three-day warm-up match between Bangladesh and CWI President's XI at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua today.
Earlier in the day, Tamim Iqbal extended his overnight score of 140 to remain unbeaten on 162 off 287 balls as Bangladesh declared their first innings on 309 for seven after 97 overs.
In reply, 26-year-old Tagenarine Chanderpaul, son of Windies batting great Shivnarine Chanderpaul, struck a fifty while fellow opener Solozano stayed unbeaten on 83 to lay a solid foundation for the hosts.
Pacer Rejaur Rahman Raja first removed Chanderpaul on 59 to break the 109-run opening stand. The home side were cruising along on 152 for 1 until Ebadot triggered a batting collapse.
Ebadot removed set batter Tevin Imlach (27) and in the very next delivery, trapped new batter Alick Athanaze in front. Ebadot struck again soon as Roston Chase departed caught behind to wicket-keeper and captain Liton Das.
The hosts were 167 for four. However, President's recovered from then on and ended the day on 201 for four in 66 overs.
