Ominous signs for India as England reply strong

Star Sports Desk

England opening batters have placed their side on the driving seat against India in the T20 World Cup's second semi-final in Adelaide today.

In reply to India's 168, England have well kept themselves up with the scoring-rate as the scoreboard reads 63 for naught at the end of Powerplay, after six overs. It is a total contrast to what India tallied, 38 for one, at the same phase in their innings.

England captain Jos Buttler led from the front initially. The dashing right-hander faced the bulk of deliveries in the first couple of overs and struck four sweetly timed boundaries. Fellow opener, Alex Hales, made his presence once he struck a lusty blow over the cover region for a six off a Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivery in the innings' third over.
