Bangladesh have dismissed two key Sri Lanka batters – Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews – through Taijul Islam to grab the momentum back in their favour on the fifth and final day of the Chattogram Test.

Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka following the injury he suffered during Bangladesh’s first innings.

Right from the get go today, Sri Lanka batters have made their intentions -- to play proactive cricket -- clear on the fifth and final day of the Chattogram Test.

There were two reasons for Mushfiqur Rahim to celebrate on day four of the first Test in Chattogram against Sri Lanka today. He eclipsed the 5000-run barrier in Tests during the first session’s play, becoming the first batter from the country to do so. The veteran fist-bumped with Liton Das after the feat and then in the second session’s play, he notched his hundred before Tea and raised his bat in celebration.

Sri Lanka were two down for 39 in their second innings at the end of the fourth day's play as the first Test in Chattogram looks increasingly likely to end in a draw, however, the Bangladesh spinners, especially Taijul Islam, started to get some turn off the surface towards.

Two wickets fell in the first two deliveries right after Lunch interval as Sri Lanka pacer Kasun Rajitha damaged Bangladesh’s momentum on day four of the Chattogram Test.

Mushfiqur Rahim was the picture of focus during the fourth’s day’s play along with Liton Das as the duo kept motoring along after rain had delayed start of play today.
