Terosree Genocide: 50 years on, hope for state recognition continues
It was the dawn of 22nd November 1971. Terosree village of Ghior upazila of Manikganj was terrorized by bayonet charges and shootings. Screams of people, fire, and the burning smell of flesh filled the air. At least 43 people lost their lives at the hands of the Pakistani military and razakars on that fateful day. People of Manikganj observes November 22 as "Terosree Genocide Day", remembeing those who were unjustly killed. However, the people of the Terosree village still await state recognition.
