Teacher arrested: Govt caving in to fanaticism?

Science teacher Hridoy Chandra Mondal was arrested on March 22 for hurting religious sentiments. But at this point, can this incident be set aside as merely an isolated event, or is it not an oozing example of a rotting society and the government caving in to fanaticism? Why were the students behaving in such a manner? Who recorded the audio? And why does the plaintiff himself not know how he was brought into this case? But the question that towers above all, what does this incident and its ongoing aftermath signify? Are we as a society gradually becoming intolerant?
