25 YEARS OF THE DAILY STAR

The birth of The Daily Star and the beginning of democracy in Bangladesh happened almost at the same time. Thus it was an ideal environment for a brand new paper to make its mark. With a mandate to present the truth to the people without fear or favour, this paper has survived many odds, celebrated many victories and dramatically grown in size and presence. In this commemorative issue we recapture some of the significant developments in this paper's evolution from a daily struggling to establish itself as an independent voice, to becoming the leading English newspaper that people have come to trust.
