People from all walks of life have again shown a great example of unity in favour of justice and of creating a society free of discrimination. Different types of immoral acts are taking place regularly in our society. It is really appreciable that people are raising their voices against injustice. We never want to see the news of such heinous acts. We all want to live in peace. We hope we will get proper judgement for what happened to Tonu. Thanks to the Star Weekend for articles titled The Fight for Tonu and Of Rape and Selective Outrage published on April 1, 2016.

The Grandeur of Baliati
I would like to thank the writer of the article titled "The Grandeur of Baliati" published in the star weekend on April 1, 2016. The writer told us about our glorious history by showing the rich heritage of our ancestors. But to speak the truth, naturally people do not evaluate what is available at their hand. As the great poet Rabindranath Tagore said, 'I went to see the ocean but I did not see the beauty of dew drop at the top of the tender leaf glistening in the morning sun just beside my home.' Our country is full of many ancient heritage sites which are no less precious and exquisite than the relics found in Mesopotamia, Greece or Egypt. I think this is why our historical architectures attract a lot of visitors including foreigners from different countries. I appreciate the writer's perspective to preserve the heritage with proper maintenance and also his appeal to arrange appropriate refreshment facilities for the visitors. Despite of maintenance, refreshment facilities is really very necessary to attract visitors to these heritage sites. I totally agree with him that if these facilities are ensured, Baliati palace will be a great place for learning, recreation and entertainment.

Jaago Bangladeshi Jaago
The spotlight article titled Jaago Bangladeshi Jaago (published on March 25, 2016) was an informative piece that gives an important insight on our great liberation war and the newly born Bangladesh's constitution. The writer discussed it very well as to how the four tenets of our constitution were altered time and again from its original formation adopted in 1972. An independent and sovereign Bangladesh is the culmination of the nine months' long struggle that cost 3 million lives and the chastity of two hundred thousand women. However, after 45 years of our independence as a nation, how much liberated and successful we have become, still remains a significant question. Looking back at the historical development of Bangladesh, it is quite evident that we have deviated from the spirit of the liberation war and digressed from the constitutional tenets repeatedly. We, the young generation that didn't see our liberation war and one of the most gruesome genocides in history, should read more on the authentic history of 1971 and also be patriotic with the spirit of it. The Star Weekend deserves a big hand for this wonderful cover story.
