Dreams from the Streets
I was very impressed by the article titled "Dreams from the Streets" published in the Star Weekend on June 10, 2016. A few years ago, in Madaninagar, every morning at 7 or 8 o'clock, on the way to my college, I used to see some children in a warehouse unloading packages of cigarettes and match boxes. I felt for them very much. The harsh reality of life forced them to do this back breaking hard work. They used to quarrel with each other on trifle matters and used abusive words. But I think, they are not to be blamed for this harsh attitude. However, those who should be blamed are those who ruined their childhood by employing these children for cheap labour and thus shattered their future. Naziba deserves applause for her impressive article. I wish, I could help a child from the street to fulfil his dream!

Remembering Fahim Munaim
Thanks to Elita Karim's article titled "Remembering Fahim Munaim" published in the Star Weekend on June 10, 2016, I got to know about a great personality who left us forever. Certainly having such a boss or colleague in the beginning of one's working life is something that has a lot of values. I hope someone from his family or friends will come up with a comprehensive biography on his life and works through which we shall be able to learn more about him, and thus he will remain immortal. I would like to thank Elita Karim for sharing her memories with this amazing personality. May the Almighty give him the best reward for his contributions to the nation.

Too Many Cooks Spoil the Broth
Bothered with our bad iftaar habit, sometimes I wonder, how 'chana', 'piyaju' and other junk foods which most people are advised to avoid by their doctors, become an inseparable part of Bangladeshi Ramadan? Reading the article by Fayeka published in the Star Weekend on June 10, 2016, it seems that the media has a big hand behind this nationwide generation -long bad iftaar habit. According to the doctors, these fried and oily foods are harmful for health not only in Ramadan but also in other months, so it is advisable that one should be more careful to avoid these foods at least in Ramadan when the body needs nutritious foods after day long starvation. I think, if the media want to change this unhealthy iftar habit, the whole nation will be able to pass a healthier Ramadan.
