Dhaka's Green Heart
I do not know how many times I passed by Ramna Park, but unfortunately I never thought of learning it's history. Thanks to the article titled "Dhaka's Green Heart" I learned something new. This park provides a valuable glimpse into many historical events. I got astonished when I first knew that there are a number of trees that are more than 100 years old. Although it is written on the signboard beside a gate that all kinds of indecent acts are prohibited in the park, there are people who violate this rule in broad day light, and not to mention, when it is dark. I would like to thank the writer because through his article he attracted the attention of the concerned authority regarding the poor maintenance of the park.

The Legacy of Mysorean Rockets
I was surprised to know that the legendary Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali are the inventors of the modern missile. Since my childhood, I have always been interested in Tipu Sultan. Also back in our school we read many things about him in the history classes. But all I knew about him is that he was a great soldier, who sacrificed his life to save his country from the British East India Company. However, thanks to the article titled "The Legacy of Mysorean Rockets" published in the Star Weekend on August 5, 2016, I learned that Tipu was not only a soldier but his contribution is much more than that. He is the inventor of a modern weapon which has changed the course of the history of warfare.

Let's save our Tigers
From the article titled "A Paradise In Peril" published in the Star Weekend on July 29,2016, I learned that the number of tigers has already been reduced to one third in Bangladesh in the last ten years. On the other hand, Rampal power plant will also affect the forest climate which will further contribute to the extinction of this rare species. That means, our national animal, Royal Bengal Tigers, are under the threat of extinction. We should raise our voice to save our tigers. This is a big threat to our national heritage. We look forward to seeing exemplary punishment for those people who kill tigers for illegal commercial purposes. I hope that the media will focus more on this matter.
