Story of a ghostly polity
I was watching live talk show 'Front Line' on Banglavision on June 16, 2014. In that show viewers ask questions to the guests through telephone calls. A viewer called and said that he would not ask any question; instead he would tell them a story: One day a grandfather came home after work, and his grandchildren crowded around him requesting him to tell them a ghost story. The grandfather started the story: “On January 5 an election was held.” The grandchildren became very disappointed and said, “We want to hear a ghost story, not this.” The grandfather replied, “I do not know any scarier ghost story than this.”
This story reveals how people are feeling about January 5 voter-less general election. Those who took charge of the country in a very unusual way, talk constantly of democracy, when actually they trampled on the basic rights of the people. Ghoulish incidents are happening regularly, maybe one day the country will become a ghost state.
