Study tour as a learning tool

In our country schools mainly rely on textbooks to teach students. School kids are encouraged to learn by rote instead of understanding what they are reading. A very few schools arrange study tours for their students. The purpose of education is to develop knowledge, skills and character of the students. Trips to visit important historical places, museums, etc., can encourage students to learn better.
