Star Cineplex, a leading choice for cinema enthusiasts with refined tastes, has maintained its position as a crowd favourite. While Hollywood films dominated the scene a few years ago, the rising wave of Bangladeshi cinema has gradually shifted the spotlight.

From working as a content creator to making her debut on the silver screen with “36-24-36”, Kaarina Kaisar’s transition happened by chance. Nevertheless, she confidently stepped into the role of Syra, using it to highlight an important message of body positivity.

The day marks the release of two films in theatres nationwide—“Rong Dhong” by Ahsan Sarwar and “36-24-36” by Rezaur Rahman. After spending four years in limbo with the censor board, “Rong Dhong” is finally set to hit the screens. On the other hand, “36-24-36,” initially produced as a web-film, is now making its theatrical debut.

The much-anticipated rom-com “36-24-36”, starring actress Parthana Fardeen Dighi, has received an uncut Universal (U) rating from the Censor Certification Board, signaling its suitability for audiences of all ages. 

Director Rezaur Rahman’s “36-24-36,” originally scheduled for release on Chorki in July, was delayed due to the Anti-discrimination Students Movement that took place that month. Now, the OTT platform has shifted its strategy to boost the cinematic industry by opting for theatrical releases. 

Recently, he shed his ‘greyish demeanour’ to penetrate into the role of a love-torn groom in Zahid Pritom’s “Buk Poketer Golpo”. The actor shared an interesting story as to how his own phobia was incorporated into the hyper-linked web-film.

Rezaur Rahman is now gearing up for the upcoming Chorki anthology film series, “Ministry of Love”, supervised by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, where his production “36-24-36” will be featured.
