Meta has announced a set of new artificial intelligence features for Facebook, led by an 'AI Mode' that allows users to ask questions and receive answers drawn from public discussions happening across the platform.

AI search startup Perplexity has made an unexpected $34.5 billion all-cash bid to buy Google’s Chrome browser - a price much higher than its own estimated valuation of $18 billion.

Perplexity AI, a California-based search startup, is close to raising $500 million in new funding, which would value the company at around $9 billion. The latest funding round will be led by venture capital firm Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), which also has a seat in the startup.
