After making a mark in OTT with memorable performances in projects such as “Kaiser” and “Daag”, actress and host Aisha Khan has carved out a distinct place in the industry. Following her big-screen debut in “Ahoto Phooler Golpo” (2018), she returned to cinemas with Proshoon Rahmaan's “Shekor”, starring opposite F S Nayeem. Released on July 31 to a warm reception, the film explores themes of identity, belonging, and the importance of preserving one's cultural roots across generations.

For Aisha Khan, Eid-ul-Azha is not defined by crowds, elaborate outings, or loud celebrations. Instead, the actress associates the occasion with quieter emotions — family, fear, reflection, and the deeply personal meaning of sacrifice.

“Shekor” continues the filmmaker’s thematic exploration of migration, displacement, and identity crisis. The narrative focuses on international migration and the emotional complexities of identity formation that arise from it. It follows the journey of a man who returns to Bangladesh after 12 years abroad, accompanied by his eight-year-old son. The child, raised in a foreign environment, experiences his father’s homeland for the first time, discovering its culture, people, and emotional landscape through a fresh and unfamiliar perspective.

Known for his layered characters and emotionally rich narratives, Tauquir’s new project promises something distinct yet deeply humane. While the plot remains tightly under wraps, lead actor Shamol Mawla hinted at its uniqueness. “A Tauquir Ahmed production always carries a different rhythm. Working with him means rediscovering yourself as an artiste,” he said. “I won’t give anything away just yet—let it surprise the audience.”

A film enthusiast, Aisha’s Eid celebrations often include a trip to the theaters. “I’ve always been a big fan of Marvel and DC movies,” she beams. “But recently, my love for Bangla cinema has grown stronger. The quality and storytelling have improved so much—I now prioritise watching Bangla films during Eid.”

The family drama series “Nonsense” is set to premiere this Pahela Baishakh on the OTT platform Bongo. Directed by Rakesh Basu, the six-episode series features Zakia Bari Mamo, Intekhab Dinar, Aisha Khan, Naziba Basher, Mili Basher, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, and Tony Michael Gomes, among others.

This Valentine’s Day, “Next Door Neighbour”, a playful and heartwarming love story, is set to premiere on Bongo. Marking the directorial debut of Mahmuda Sultana Reema, the drama stars Aisha Khan as Bipasha and Partho Sheikh as Adnan. 

“Niruddesh” premiered on January 9 at 3pm on the Gaanchill Drama & Cinema YouTube channel.

Another notable release, “Noya Manush”, is already captivating audiences in theatres this December. Directed by Sohel Rana Boyati, this drama features Rawnak Hasan and Mousumi Hamid in leading roles, with a large ensemble cast. The story revolves around survivors of a flood who start new lives on an island. 

Filmmaker Sohel Arman began filming his project "Shongbad" in Natore last June. However, its production faced delays due to the student protests and the subsequent fall of the Awami League government. After a prolonged pause, reports confirm that shooting is all set to resume.

Hosted by Aisha Khan, the event brought together talented filmmakers and artistes excelling in the OTT space. After completing “Shongbad”, the actress wants to take a break. Being the homesick kind, she mostly enjoys her own company, however, she also shared that she needed a vacation this time. “I want to explore a new country this time. It depends on my mood; whenever I feel a little pride in myself, I want to run to the hills and mountains, it makes me feel grounded and helps me to stay humble. When I feel exhausted, I prefer going near the sea, as it helps me to be calm.”

The sensational Korean drama, “Reply 1988”, has taken the world by storm, enchanting global audiences with its heartfelt narrative set against the backdrop of 1980’s Seoul. Now, SRK Studios BD is set to introduce this cultural gem to the Bangladeshi audience, with its anticipated release on the OTT platform Bioscope.

Raka, along with her team, took this initiative to inspire young talents, and as a growing organisation, they have also received warm reception from celebrities as well. Artistes like, FS Nayeem, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Aisha Khan and Russell Rahman also posted videos on the event, and invited people to come and experience the event.

Just after the audience had a fun-filled ride watching Chorki's last web-series, "Internsheep", the OTT platform hints at its upcoming drama-thriller series.

Growing up in the industry, Aisha was eventually enamoured with anchoring and working simultaneously on OTTs. Her debut was in the ZEE5 Global web project “Contract”, sharing the screen with Arifin Shuvoo and Shamol Mawla.
