Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan yesterday told parliament that Bangladesh is intensely observing Indian’s internal situation regarding the country’s controversial National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) might be an important agenda of discussion during Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to neighbouring India in early October, reports Hindustan Times.

The Assam Public Works (APW), an NGO and the original petitioner in the Supreme Court which led to the update of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, says the final NRC is a “flawed document”.
