Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha heaped praises on the Tigers’ chosen 15 who will represent the country in the forthcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies. 

“The start of the USA v Bangladesh T20I series scheduled for May 21 is currently in doubt after a major storm system ripped through the Houston area on Thursday,” Penna wrote on X

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is going into the upcoming T20 World Cup as Tigers’ key player in what could be his final bow in T20’s showpiece event.

The Tigers are slotted in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Nepal

Bangladesh are stepping on to another T20 World Cup, on the back of a disastrous outing in the 2022 edition in Australia. The make-up of the team will possibly not stir a storm in a teacup, but the expectations from the side was nevertheless questioned in context of the recently concluded series against Zimbabwe where the Tigers may not have been tested to World Cup standards.

“We had formed a team in light of the BPL, and we didn’t deviate a lot from that squad. Saifuddin is the only player from the squad we had submitted on the 30th who didn’t make it in the final cut.”

The Bangladesh team will be leaving for the USA on Wednesday. The Tigers will play a three-match T20 series against the USA starting on May 21 before beginning their T20 World Cup campaign.

The dropped catch from Jaker made the equation a little harder for the Tigers in the second T20I but more importantly, it added another worry for the team’s think tank heading into the T20 World Cup

Bangladesh will begin their five-match Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on an outfield that has certainly seen better days.
