Can Bangladesh make a space film? Taneem Rahman Angshu believes the bigger question is not whether it can be made, but whether there is a market ready for it. With “Limbo”, his upcoming cosmic romance and space film envisioned through CGI, VFX and animation, Angshu wants to capture the wonder of space without severing the story from its earthly roots – the socio-cultural world of Bangladeshi people.

After a long break from making feature films, National Film Award-winning filmmaker Taneem Rahman Angshu is returning to the big screen with “Limbo”, and he has now brought on board Biplab Goswami, the writer of Bollywood film “Laapataa Ladies”, as the screenplay writer.

Biplab Goswami, the credited writer of the 2024 film "Laapataa Ladies", has responded strongly to online plagiarism allegations linking his script to Fabrice Bracq’s French short film “Burqa City” and Ananth Mahadevan’s 1999 movie "Ghoonghat Ke Pat Khol".

To make a film is to tell a story, and when it's a cumulation of collective consciousness, to find common social grounds, values, and ordinary yet telltale stories that create the base of development of human thought and psyche is a perfect example of a much needed social and cultural commentary.
