Indian high commissioner says at MCCI meeting

The commerce ministry has formed two separate committees to start negotiations with India over signing a proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Cepa) to boost bilateral trade and investment in the post-LDC period. 

If implemented properly, Bangladesh stands to gain more from the proposed trade pact with India by way of higher exports and investment despite the loss in tariff revenue, found a Dhaka-Delhi joint feasibility study.

Bangladesh and India decided during a meeting between their Commerce Ministers Tofail Ahmed and Suresh Prabhu in Dhaka recently to explore a bilateral Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) which is an important stage in the countries' burgeoning ties.
