Cyclone Vayu will change its path again and is likely to hit Gujarat’s Kutch on June 17-18, a top official of the Indian Ministry of Earth Sciences has said.

Cyclone Vayu which had intensified into a “very severe” cyclonic storm has changed its course slightly and will most likely not cross the Gujarat coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informs.

An estimated three lakh people are set to be pulled back to safer places as very severe cyclone 'Vayu' today headed towards Gujarat on the coast of Arabian Sea and strike it tomorrow.

Centred nearly 340km south of Veraval in Gujarat on the East Central Arabian Sea, cyclonic storm ‘Vayu’ has intensified into a “very severe” storm and is most likely to make a landfall on the state’s coast between Porbandar and Mahuva around Veraval and Diu region with a wind speed 110-120kmph gusting to 135kmph during the early morning of June 13.
