A militant from the so-called Islamic State (IS) believed to be responsible for a deadly attack on US troops in northern Iraq has been killed in a drone strike, the US military says.

Reports from Yemen say that the leader of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Nasser al-Wuhayshi, has been killed in a US drone strike.

Laden was fixated on attacking US targets and pressured al Qaeda groups to heal local rivalries and focus on that cause,according to documents the US says were seized in his hideout in Pakistan.
