Veteran Bosnia and Herzegovina captain Edin Dzeko announced on Thursday that he would retire from international duty after October's Nations League match against Sweden.

Veteran Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko has signed a one-year contract extension with Schalke after helping them return to the Bundesliga last season, the German club said Monday.

Bosnia manager Sergej Barbarez opted for a blend of experience, youth and new faces when he announced his World Cup squad on Monday, with veteran striker Edin Dzeko leading the line and uncapped midfielder Ermin Mahmic also included.
