The Everest industry is suffering from a dangerous shortage of its most important resource: experienced Sherpa guides.

Nepalese government’s decision to ban blind climbers from joining Everest expeditions has run into flak from the National Federation of the Blind, the World Blind Union and the National Federation of the Disabled who have called the move ‘discriminatory’.
