Non-garment exports struggle with quality standards and logistics bottlenecks

The country’s merchandise exports grew by 21 percent year-on-year to $4.13 billion in October, mainly riding on increased garment shipments, according to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) yesterday.

By limiting ourselves to these two markets, we are missing out on a whole world of opportunities.

The additional 1 per cent cash incentive on the export receipts of readymade garments would continue in the next fiscal year as the government looks to boost the shipment of clothing items.
