Fines for illegal household gas use -- currently between Tk 10,000 and Tk 20,000 -- will be increased to a maximum of Tk 40,000

Enough gas to keep 30 lakh kitchen burners alight for an entire year went up in smoke as system losses in fiscal year 2024-25.

A mobile court today conducted a drive in Gazipur's Board Bazar and surrounding areas and disconnected more than 800 illegal gas connections of 400 houses.
