More than a day after voting ended in the long-awaited Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union election, the authorities were still struggling to complete the vote count, triggering mounting anger and suspicion.

Five of eight panels boycotted the long-awaited Jucsu elections yesterday over allegations of irregularities, mismanagement, and vote rigging, even as polling continued from 9:00am to 5:00pm in most centres.

The 12-day campaign for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) and hall elections, which began on August 29, ended yesterday.
