The government has decided to take a series of measures to expand cancer and kidney care nationwide amid the growing burden of these diseases.

At a time when the country is grappling with a rising burden of cancer and heart and kidney diseases, a major government project aimed at decentralising specialised treatment facilities beyond Dhaka remains incomplete even after seven years.

People mostly the poor suffering from Kidney diseases are not getting adequate treatment facilities in the South Asian countries including Bangladesh, said an international study.
