A virtual court in Dhaka has granted bail to Mosaddek Hanif Swad, who owns Moyur-2 launch that hit and sank another vessel at Buriganga River and killed 34 passengers on June 29.

Rescue workers today recovered one more body from the Buriganga river, taking the death toll in the launch capsize to 34.

Seven people including the owner of Moyur-2 -- the launch that hit another in Buriganga river yesterday and caused the latter to capsize -- have been sued over the deaths of 32 people.

Ignoring health directives to contain the spread of Covid-19, several thousands of people thronged the Sadarghat area today to witness the rescue operations of the launch capsize.
