Under the new rate structure that took effect on August 1, a one-litre packet of processed milk now costs Tk 110, up 10 percent from Tk 100

The High Court yesterday observed that the dairy farms and companies must produce pure, safe, and hygienic milk and milk products maintaining international standards in order to ensure sound health of the country’s citizens.

The Supreme Court clears the way for Bangladesh Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Limited (Milk Vita), a state brand milk producing company, to produce, distribute and sell of its pasteurised milk.

There is no presence of formalin and arsenic in the liquid milk of Milk Vita, State Minister for Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Shawpan Bhattacharjee has told parliament.
