Leaving behind her glamorous persona, actress Pori Moni has stepped into the role of a mother for the first time in her career in the film, Maa, which will be released today in theaters. The film recently premiered at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, in the Marché du film segment.

Actress Pori Moni has expressed her heartfelt desire to watch the premiere of her upcoming film, "Maa", with her own son Rajya and the baby who played her on-screen child in the film.

The movie will be screened under the festival’s ‘marché du film’ (film market), at the Palais de Festivals of Cannes’s theatre, for which the director of “Maa” is currently in attendance.

The Liberation War-based film has been directed by Aranyo Anawer. The film will have a screening at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, on May 20. As per the rules, a film cannot be released before its screening at the festival. Thus, the release of the film has been postponed by a week. 

Actress Pori Moni has been admitted to the hospital due to a high fever, as she shared the news herself on her verified Facebook page. The actress, accompanied by her only son, revealed the details of her health condition in a Facebook post.
