India's Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the upcoming two-Test series in Sri Lanka, with Sarfaraz Khan named as his replacement, the country's cricket board said on Sunday.

Sarfaraz, a domestic run-machine who was playing just his fourth Test since his debut earlier this year, smashed 150 and put on a key 177-run fourth-wicket stand with Rishabh Pant on a rain-curtailed day four in Bengaluru.

India's Sarfaraz Khan on Thursday said his Test debut has been dream fulfilled for his father after he impressed with an attacking 62 against England in the third match.

“Sarfaraz hasn't just knocked on the door, he has beaten it down,” Harsha wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
