The Supreme Court chamber judge today did not stay the High Court verdict that scrapped the government's decision to issue appointment letters to 6,531 candidates selected for the post of assistant teachers in government primary schools.

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Begum Rumana Ali told parliament today that around 2.38 lakh teachers have been appointed at primary schools in the last 12 years
