A tropical storm in the Philippines triggered mudslides and flooding that killed nearly 90 people, while dozens are missing, police and disaster officials say.

Two women are killed when their tin-shed houses collapsed on them during a storm that lashed different upazilas of Patuakhali. The storm has uprooted many electric poles, plunging Dhumki, Golachipa, Dasmina and Baufal upazilas into darkness.
