In a legal process spanning nearly five years, Jamaat-e-Islami's secretary general and former minister Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed has been handed the death penalty.

The Supreme Court has completed drafting the verdict that upheld the death penalty of Muhammad Kamaruzzaman for his crimes committed during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
