From 'dress as you like' to cosplay -- the evolution has certainly been easy on the eye. Not so much on the pocket though. But one thing we Bangladeshis know how to do well is to improvise and make things work under any circumstance. Call it our special 'mutant' power, if you will. Made in Jinjira and damn proud. The cover story in this issue delves into how it all began and where the Bangladeshi cosplay scene stands now.
The abundance of poetic Facebook statuses is a testament to another Bangladeshi interest. Virtually every Bangladeshi is a budding bard; all it takes to stoke the fire is a rain-soaked noon followed by all-you-can-eat khichuri. English Club of North South University understands this and decided to celebrate our poetic prowess with an inter-university poetry competition.
Despite what the system teaches you, AUTHORITY is not always right. We hear that's what democracy is supposedly about. This instalment of our regular column, 'Echoes', sheds light on the perils of not questioning the higher power. SHOUT can't be held liable if you get fired though.
