The Valley of Gold

The Buddha Dhatu Jadi, locally known as the Bandarban Golden Temple, is the largest Theravada Buddhist Temple with the second largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh. Built in 2000 on a hill about 400 feet high, adopting Arakanese architecture, the temple attracts tourists from many foreign countries. Surrounded by the lush green vegetation of the forest, it is an oasis of solitude far away from the maddening crowd of the city life.
