Rejwan, Sudipta elected BSPA president, GS

Rejwan Uz Zaman of Channel 24 was re-elected as president, while Sudipta Ahmed Ananda of Agamir Somoy was elected general secretary at the Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) biennial general meeting 2025 and election for the 2026-27 term, held at the BOA Auditorium in the capital on Saturday.

Besides the top two posts, 17 other members were elected uncontested. Talha Bin Nazrul (Daily Nayadiganta) and Abu Noman Md. Ullah (All Out Sports) were elected in the two VP posts while Faisal Titumir (Jamuna TV) and Sazid Mustahid (Somoy TV) secured the two joint general secretary posts.

Shahjahan Kabir (Kalerkantho) was elected finance secretary, while AKM Faizul Islam (Channel 24) became organisational secretary. Md. Masuk Mia (Daily Amar Desh) was elected office secretary, and Rayhan Uddin Russell (Bangladesh Pratidin) took charge as sports and cultural secretary.

The nine executive members elected are: Khairul Islam Shahin (Freelancer), Parag Arman (ATN Bangla), Kazi Shahidul Alam (Daily Ajkaler Khabar), Miah Rafiqul Islam (Daily Sangram), Tangim Ahmed (Bangla Tribune), Rashida Afzalun Nesa (BSS), Mahfuzul Islam (RTV), Navil Elahi Khan (T Sports), and Samsul Arefin Khan (Daily Star).
A total of 144 members of the organisation were present at the programme.

The election results were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Md. Mofakkharul Islam Dilkhush whilr election commissioners Yahia Munna and Rahenur Islam were also present.
